Topic: Slippery When Wet: Caring for a Newly-born - Tim Redding

This session will cover basic and advanced care for the treatment of a newly-born child.  We will discuss assessment and management of healthy and sick children immediately after birth.

Learning Objectives:

  • We will discuss the assessment of a newly-born including APGAR and other measures
  • We will discuss the management of a healthy newly-born
  • We will discuss the assessment and management of a sick newly-born
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CE CREDIT:
  1. You must use a device with a camera and remain in the frame.
  2. First and last names must be used, so calling in with a phone number is not allowed. Creating a free zoom account is best to ensure this works correctly.
  3. You must be present on live video during the entire webinar to obtain credit. Avatars or still pictures are not allowed.
  4. Questions, polls, and other means may be used to engage participants and to make sure you are participating.
  5. Microphones will be muted, but questions may be asked in the chat feature.
  6. If you have technical issues, even if they are beyond your control and can't attend the entire course, you won't receive credit.
  7. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 5-7 business days upon receipt of webinar evaluation. Course information and attendees will also be uploaded directly into the KSBEMS portal.

About Our Speaker

Tim Redding, NRP, I/C
President, Emergency Education Consultants

Tim Redding has been in EMS since 1992 and has been a paramedic and instructor since 1996. He is certified as an instructor by the AHA, Department of Homeland Security, NAEMT and is an Instructor Coordinator for the states of NH & MA.  Tim was named the NH EMS Educator of the Year for 2017.  He presents regularly at EMS conferences throughout the U.S. and has taught internationally in Guyana, Guatemala, Ireland, and Australia. Tim founded Emergency Education Consultants in 2005 and is a two-time Ironman.
